The Dance of Intimacy

The Dance of Intimacy is a contact-dance space that invites and exploration of the many different fascets of intimacy and connection. 

This is a different space to your typical contact improvisation events and jams-

We allow and welcome different flavours of connection- playfulness, sensuality, stillness, ecstatic, primal, grief, tenderness- the whole landscape of our emotionality and embodied expression is welcome in the space.

Through consensual touch, presence, attunement and creative exploration we open a space for the authentic aliveness of each dynamic to emerge.

Through the space we learn about our impulses, our desires, our habits of clinging or avoiding, our fawning and our pushing. We bring these unconscious dynamics to the light and allow the space to become a laboratory of intimacy in all it's shades.

This is not a space to seek and chase eroticism- while we welcome Eros as part of the landscape of our humanity, we are exploring TRUTH and not pushing an agenda or seeking any sort of gratification through connection with others. No one is under any obligation to touch or connect with anyone in the space if it doesn't feel aligned for them. You could spend the whole time alone, or in blissful melting moments of intimate connection.

We begin with warmup practices and invitations to explore our impulses, our boundaries and attune to the group.

There will be open space to move, dance and explore.

The final half an hour we move to a blindfolded practice and explore what happens when we take our sight and physical preferences out of the equation.

Please arrive clean and showered, wearing clothing you can comfortably move in. The amount of skin available is a matter of personal preference.

Liberating Love Collective is a substance-free space (unless we are ceremonially using cacao or blue lotus). Do not arrive to any events under the influence of marijuana, alcohol or other substances or you will be asked to leave with no refunds as this is a consent violation for those who wish to engage with others in a sober, conscious way. Substance use is one of the biggest contributors to both the violation of others boundaries and the missing of our own 'no' and deeper intuition.

Please do not wear any perfumes, body sprays or other strong scents. Our team have chemical sensitivities and perfumes can give us migranes and health issues which will impact the event. You may be asked to wash off any perfumes if you come wearing them.

For any events involving touch, please come clean showered.
